Being convicted of a Criminal or Drug offense of any kind is a serious matter that could result in penalties and negatively impact your future employment opportunities. If you are facing drug charges, it is critical that you have an experienced criminal defense attorney who is committed to vigorously defending your rights.

If you have received a speeding ticket or if you have been charged with a traffic crime such as reckless driving or driving after suspension, do not take your charges lightly. Traffic tickets can damage your driving record and may potentially result in a sharp rise in your auto insurance rates. More serious traffic offenses, such as DUI or driving with a revoked license, could potentially result in jail time and other serious criminal sanctions.
Paying a traffic ticket is an admission of guilt. If you plead guilty to a misdemeanor or felony traffic crime, such as DUI, fleeing the scene of an accident or reckless driving, you will have a criminal conviction on your record that could harm your future employment opportunities.

The outcome of a divorce can significantly impact your parental rights and financial security. Nothing is more important to parents than their children. If you are involved in a divorce or other family law matter where child custody or visitation is an issue, it is important that you have an experienced attorney who is committed to protecting your rights.

Personal injury claims involving serious injuries and wrongful death are highly complex and should be handled by an experienced personal injury lawyer. Such claims must be properly managed to establish liability, prove damages and obtain the full compensation that injured persons are entitled to receive. If you have been injured in an accident or you have lost a loved one due to the negligence of others, you can find the experienced and skilled legal representation

E. Gordon Peters, Jr., Esq.

Practice Areas: Custody, Traffic, Personal Injury, Family Law

Gordon was born in 1965 in Jacksonville, North Carolina. A son of a Marine, Gordon lived in various parts of the world and Virginia before moving to Lynchburg in 1972 after his father=s graduation from law school at the University of Virginia. The Peters family has remained in Lynchburg ever since. He is the oldest of four siblings, all of whom are products of the Lynchburg Public Schools.

After graduating from E.C. Glass High School in 1983, Gordon went to Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA, and earned an M.A. degree from the University of Richmond in 1990. After a career as an English teacher for five years, Gordon returned to the University of Richmond for his law degree, which he completed in 1999. During his time away from Lynchburg, Gordon used his time making friends and colleagues all over the state, thereby creating a wealth of people and resources on which he can rely upon for many different matters.

Gordon returned to Lynchburg to work with his father in the family business in 2002 and has lived, and worked, in downtown Lynchburg since that time. Over the years, he has built up a solid practice specializing in the areas of criminal defense litigation, traffic infractions, juvenile law, divorce and custody disputes, and wills, trusts and estates. His goal is to augment the services his father began in 1982, when established himself as a solo practitioner.

In his spare time, Gordon enjoys reading, golf, guitar and traveling with his wife.
